The market has been barraged by gaming-pointed mechanical keyboards throughout the final year and Cooler Master has brought together the fray with its Storm Quick Fire speedys. Dissimilar much entire-sized entrances through Corsair, Mionix, Razer and much others, Cooler Master has preferred for a cleaner Tennessean designs that sheds the often-dismissed numberpad. This stores a solid 3 to 4“ horizontally so gamers can move their mouse a small nearer to their keyboard.

The board is extended with the common lay outs of Cherry MX switches, adding blue, brown and black. We have caught wind of red examples being sold in Asia but we are not confirm if they will be present in the US. In truth, as it stands, just the Cherry MX blue edtion is named on Cooler Master's US site. Whatever occures to land stateside will be dealt.

Characteristic-wise, the Storm QuickFire Rapid does not assume things far beyond what you will get on existing tenkeyless examples from Leopold or Filco, adding entire NKRO through PS2. It includes a handful of media modifiers to the F keys, a game manner that invalids the Windows buttons, and a ruggeder braided cord (it's obliterable similar to Leopold's). The company too casts in 6 additional keycaps for the WASD and arrow buttons.

The buttons are reportedly ABS plastic with a lasered legend and a rubber covering (hopefully more durable than Razer's rubber result). Rather of extending expensively backlit buttons, CM has utilized a redish orange backplate that has a well ambient impression in the picture we have seen. That is not to entail that the bright backplate is guessed to be a poor man's backlighting, but it is a well touch and has a same solution in the sense that it includes a splash of color to the board.
