When you do get that feeling make sure you never use the USB-V18H3 racing wheel by SVB-ever. It does not do half of what it says it will do and even as a steering wheel itself, it is an abject failure. After many attempts at getting it to work, these are some of the things we found.
FEATURES:
The manual states that it has three modes, Digital, Analog and Negcon (which is a controller made for the Playstation to REPLACE steering wheel controllers). Force feedback is also something that they claim to have. There is also a handbrake and gear stick as well as racing paddle shifts behind the wheel for acceleration and deceleration behind the wheel. Foot pedals are also provided as well and seem to be the only things that work properly.
PERFORMANCE:
The controller seemed promising at first, it was easy to assemble and we were ready to play in no time. It was all downhill from there. The buttons which can be mapped are all actually incorrect which means that button 1 is detected as button 0 in the game. We tested the controller while playing Codemasters' excellent title, GRID and right from the start the steering did not respond. In analog mode, the steering would only respond to extreme turns and that too it would still oversteer. Basically
it meant we just kept crashing into walls all the time. We tried digital mode and it responded a bit better but would only turn if we let go of the accelerator and still it was not responsive enough. Needless to say we couldn't find 'NEGCON' mode. There is no force feedback or feedback of any kind. Also the handbrake and brake pedal are detected as the same button, hence rendering one of them useless. None of us made it past the first corner.
VERDICT: If you want to buy a steering wheel controller for your PC make sure this is not it. FOR: None AGAINST: Steering, poorly mapped buttons, no force feedback.
