As you know, we need an ISP (Internet Service Provider) connection to enter the Internet. Therefore, first of all, we will create an ISP icon on our Desktop through the following steps:

1. Switch on your computer as well as your modem. Windows XP Desktop gets displayed on the screen.

2. Movethe mouse-pointer over the Start button and click on it. A start-up menu appears on the screen.

3. Click on the All Programs option in the start-up menu, a second menu gets displayed.

4. Movethe mouse-pointer over the Accessories option. A third menu appears.

5. Now, move the mouse-pointer over the Communication option. A fourth menu gets displayed.

6. In the fourth menu, click on the Network Connections option.The Network Connections window box appears on the screen.

7. Inside the Network Connections window, /ocatethe vsnl icon. Now, we will make a shortcut of this icon on the Desktop. Click the right mouse-button on the vsnl icon. Instantly, a shortcut menu gets displayed on the screen.

8. Inside the shortcut menu, clickon Create Shortcut option. Immediately, a Shortcut box gets displayed the screen. asking you whether you wish to place the shortcut on the Desktop.

9. Inside the Shortcut box, clickon the Yes button. Instantly, a Shortcut to vsnl icon gets displayed on the Desktop.
