Windows XP has in-built firewall. You can use this firewall to safeguard your computer against various malicious programs. You don't need to make much effort to configure this firewall, with few mouse-clicks, you can activate this firewall. Let us now undertake following steps and learn to use firewall.
4. Move the mouse-pointer over the Start button and click the left mouse-button.
5. Inside push-up menu, move the mouse-pointer over the Control Panel option and click the left mouse-button.
A Control Panel window appears. Move the mouse-pointer over the Windows Firewall icon and double-click the left mouse-button.
6. A Windows box appears.
7. Click over the radio-button beside On (recommended) option.
8. Now, click over the Exceptions tab. This tab allows youlD add or select desired programs and services, which Windows Firewall does not block.
9. If desired program is not listed in Exceptions tab then dick over the Add Program button.
10. An ad a Programdialog box appears.
11. Move the mouse-pointer over program you want to include in the list of exceptions.
12. Next, click over the OK button.
13. Windows Firewall dialog box re-appears. Click over the OK button to activate the firewall.
