I am not getting dial tone from my modem?

1. There are two phone jacks in the back of the modem: one for the phone line, and the other for your telephone. Make sure you did not reverse the connector on those two ports.

2. Also, connect a telephone directly to the phone line and make sure you hear a dial tone. If you're using the modem in an office environment. check to make sure the phone line you're using support a data call. Most offices with a PBX (public branch exchange) system have phone lines that only support voice calls.
