    I am getting a port error when performing a self-diagnostic?

    1. If you have an ISA modem, it should be set to COM2. Go into your BIOS setup and make sure COM2 or serial port B

    is disabled under integrated peripherals. Also, make Plug and Play OS support is set to yes or enabled.

    1. Next. go into Device Manager (right click on MyComputJ / Properties / Device Manager tab) and double click Modem. Your modem should be listed under this en Double-click on your modem and you should see.

    2. Resources tab associated with your modem. If Resources tab is not present. then most likely yo loading the wrong modem driver.

    3. If the problem still persists, restart your system and into Safe Mode (hit F8 when Windows 9x startsl ard to Device Manager. Double click on Ports (COM & and remove all the entries that read CommunicatIOn IXII (COMx). Then restart your system in Normal mode.
