Default Emails to a mailing list

I'm a club secretary . who sends regular news etters to around 120 email addresses using Yahoo Mail. Some insist their em ail address should not be visible to others. I assumed that if I sent the em ail to one address and put all the remaining addresses in the BCC box that it would work. Unfortunately, it doesn't. How do I go about sending multiple emails.blind.to each addressee?

It's easier to do this if you use an email program rather than the webmail provided by your ISP. Your Windows 2000 or XP computer will have come with a program called Outlook Express. Vista has a similar program called Windows Mail. This works in the same way as Yahoo Mail, but you don't have to be online to use it (you can read and compose messages offline and the computer will automatically log on to send them). More importantly, it's more powerful than the web-based mail, and you can put as many addresses as you wish into the BCC box. [fyou have Microsoft Office, you'll also have access to Outlook, an even more powerful program.

A free email program Thunderbird offers the same features. In each case, you can put your own (or the club's) email address into the To box, and all the other addresses into the BCC box, then send the message. Do beware that some ISPs frown on sending to large numbers of people at once - it may be worth splitting your mailing list into two groups and sending the messages perhaps an hour or two apart. Also, some incoming mail services disregard mail that's been sent as a BCC, as it's more likely to be spam. If you still find your messages are not getting through, consider using a mailing list service. You could set up a private group for your club at Yahoo Groups and send the messages through that.
