Thread: Trouble with internet connection

My computer configuration is: Intel Dual Core 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 160 GB hard disk. I am facing trouble with the Internet connection. While accessing the Internet the link breaks after every few minutes.

For re-establishing the broadband ,connection the computer has to be restarted. The problem persists despite installing a new modem and laying new wiring. Please help!

Your computer could be a victim of a virus attack or one or Check if your broadband equipment is more files of the Windows system are corrupted. Have your system thoroughly checked with updated antivirus and antispyware programs. Scan your hard drives for errors and defrag them at least once a week. Now test if your system works fine on the Internet. If it still does not behave itself, then update Windows with the latest service pack (SP3 for Windows XP and SPl for Windows Vista). The service pack should solve most problems with updates and corrupted file issues. Finally if you still have a problem, then you should try reinstalling Windows all over again.

You should also check if your Internet connection is not faulty by trying a laptop or another computer with your Internet line to make sure that it is not a problem of "your hardware.

Note:

Check for loose wires, connections and power sockets to all your computer peripherals. A sparking connector can also be a cause for a lot of problems. Also check if your broadband equipment is connected correctly according to the circuit diagram mentioned in the modem manual.
