If you want to send an encrypted message to someone, first compose the text as usual in your mail program. Then, copy it to the clipboard with the "Edit I Copy" command. Load WinPT from the system tray and encrypt the message text that you just copied to the clipboard. Then go back to the message, and delete the text in
the message, replacing it with the encrypted text using "Edit I Paste".
As you see, the encryption does not happen directly in the message.
It happens via the clipboard, a special area in the memory.
Here are the steps to encrypt the message.
1. Open Microsoft Outlook and compose a new message. Add the address in the "'To:" field and also the subject line.
2. Select the text in the message and choose "'Edit I Copy"',
3. Minimize Outlook so that the Windows desktop is visible,
4. Right-click on the key icon for WPT (in the System Tray) and select "'Clipboard"' and then "Encrypt"', 5. WinPT now shows your bunch of keys. Check the name of the recipient. As soon as you click "OK", WinPT/ GnuPG encodes the text with the public key of the addressee. The program then automatically copies it to the clipboard.
Now switch back to your mail program and paste the encrypted text in the message. You can now send the message.
