WHATEVER YOUR WEB-CON FER encing needs, WebEx , the senior player in this arena, probably has a product for you. The company offers products for online meetings, seminars, training, and audio-conferencing. There's even a version
with integrated remote-control technology for staffers who need to support customers over the Web.
That sounds fine, but it means you need to be careful to choose the platform that's right for you, because they're all priced differently. WebEx MeetMeNow will likely be the most popular product with small businesses because it covers all the basics for groups up to ten. There's no support for event management or lead tracking, though; WebEx offers other services with those features. This makes MeetMeNow a bit of a hit or-miss proposition, but fortunately, its price is low enough that this shouldn't be a big roadblock to most users.

Overall, I was a little underwhelmed with WebEx MeetMeNow. All the basics are there for small and midsize businesses just looking for a place to meet each other or customers online. But it seems as though anything advanced is an added cost. Even session record ing costs extra, whereas Microsoft Live Meeting 2007 and Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional do that for free. Then again, even WebEx's non-contract price was the cheapest in the roundup, so if advanced frills aren't on your agenda anyway, MeetMeNow should stay at the top of your list. With a 14-day free trial available, there's no harm in trying it out, though you'll need to supply a credit card number.
