As compared to MS-Office, the OpenOffice.org application is much slower. It also occupies more of the CPU Processing time and built-in memory.

Word Casing: OpenOffice.org has the option of just two word cases;
the upper and the lower case; in comparison to MS-Office, which offers toggle and sentence case as well.

Unreliable Software Support: Any Support required for the software
is made available through unofficial user groups and developer community forums. This creates a question mark on the support available on the application suite.
