Yes, it is possible to connect your Xbox and PC to your Internet connection at the similar time. You first want to connect a router to your cable or DSL modem. After that connect your a Xbox to the router with a standard Ethernet cable. If your PC is in close immediacy to the Xbox, you can just connect an Ethernet cable from the computer to the router and you have your solution. The whole thing connected to the router will share the same Internet connection, since the router is connected to the modem.
If this is not connecting the computer to the router via Ethernet can consider the use of wireless communications. In this case, you require a wireless router, which also has at least one additional Ethernet port on it. This permits you to connect your Xbox directly to the router and the computer will communicate wirelessly. You also need to install a wireless (WiFi) card in your computer if it does not. While your computer is connected wireless and the Xbox has a direct connection, they will both be on the same network and share a similar connection to the Internet. This, of course, better than the constant disconnecting and reconnecting the Ethernet cable each time you switch between PC and Xbox!
