What does Windows XP ICS/ICF status mean?

ICS stands for "Internet Connection Sharing" and ICF stands for "Internet Connection Firewall."
Internet Connection Sharing is where two or more PCs share the similar Internet connection. An Internet Connection Firewall Windows XP is a distinctive feature that monitors and limits the input traffic on the Internet. ICS and ICF can be activated separately, which means that you have ICF and ICS turned off, or vice versa.
If you are sharing an Internet connection, Internet Connection Firewall should only be enabled for the computer or router that is straight connected to your Internet connection. It should not be configured for every network PC. If you only one PC connected to the Internet you can allow ICF straight on this computer and ICS is not needed. ICS / ICF status refers to whether or not either of those options enabled.
thanks for sharing such nice information with us.......
