Thread: Issue with Desktop Network Connectivity

My laptop having integral LAN and works well on Ethernet, but PC restricted or no connectivity signal and problem with wired network. It can’t show other PCs on network and it can’t connect to internet, but it shows connected.

Go to Start, Run, cmd and type ipconfig if you have 169.xxx.xxx.xxx address, you are not getting to internet then type "ping www.google.com" if it times out then there is problem, if not, you are getting to internet.

Go to Start, Run and type regedit. It now opens registry editor window, go to File, Export Registry. Then go to HKLM, System, Current Control Set, Services. Delete winsock and winsock2
Go to Network Connections and right click on LAN connection, Properties and choose Internet protocol TCP/IP and click Install, Protocol, Add, Have Disk, type "c:\windows\inf" in the box then Next. Restart PC, you must connect to internet.
