I use normally vga monitor with usb keyboard for null modem io serial port on salaries 10 box. I would like to get free of the old null modem terminals. We use training purposes to show students how to troubleshoot NorAm parameters. We specific budget, there should be some way to catch the keyboard and monitor already at the workstation to the serial port right?

You should be able to find a Null modem adapter, and connect it to your PC, then run a serial cable from your PC to the Solaris box. Of course, this all depends on the Solaris box using normal serial wiring, and nothing special.
