Method for solve incompatibility issue between IE 8 and the Google Toolbar

Problem description

When you try to open Windows IE 8, you get the following error message:

Internet Explorer 8 is in a special no-add-ons mode so that you can fix a compatibility problem with Google Toolbar:
This incompatibility will cause IE 8 to stop working or crash.

Option 1: Update to the latest Google Toolbar

To update to the most recent Google Toolbar, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Google Toolbar site to download and install the most recent version of the Google Toolbar. This will solve this problem.
  2. Close all Internet Explorer windows after you install the update.



Option 2: Disable the Google Toolbar

To disable the Google Toolbar, follow these steps:

  1. Close each and every IE windows.
  2. Open a new IE window. You will notice a pop informing you that the ‘Google Toolbar' add-on can cause IE to crash or to stop working.
  3. Click Always open Internet Explorer without this add-on.

After you perform this, IE 8 will not show the Google Toolbar when it open.
