Undoubtedly the most popular FTP client currently in use, FileZilia is free, open source, and works across platforms. Its key features are site manager, message log,
file and folder view, and transfer queue.

The site manager allows a user to create a list of FTP sites along with their connection data, such as the port number to use, the protocol to use, and choose whether to use anonymous or normal logon. The message log, usually placed. along the top of the window, displays the commands sent by FileZilia and the remote server's responses on a console-type output.

The file and folder view, placed right below the message log, provides a graphical interface for file transfer. Users can navigate through folders using an Explorer-style tree interface, and view and alter their contents on both the local and remote machines. FileZilia also supports the drag and drop files feature between the local and remote computers. The transfer queue, at the bottom of the window, shows the real-time status of each queued or active file transfer .
