Dodgy updates Occasionally, installing an official Microsoft update can have a detrimental effect on your PC. If you notice your Windows XP computer behaving erratically after an update, you can uninstall the update. Click Start, then Control Panel, then Add or Remove Programs. Put a check in the box labelled 'Show updates' and look for the most recent update in the list that appears. Highlight it and click Remove.
