Default Virus on my Dell supercomputer

I have a Dell laptop which some 6 months old. I am by means of Windows on it and for a little days I had given the same to my friend. I think there is a virus in the system. First of all my courier gets hanged when a popup comes out. This had never happen before. I had installed Hijackthis and found some eccentric services. I need some more help in tracking this threats in my system. Thanks in advance.

On searching various sites I set up that most of the time it lies in the Internet cache. Thus serves as a spur to infect a PC by exploiting a flaw in the system or third party software.
