Antivirus 2008 is one of many fake antivirus programs. According to a 2010 report by Google, its security part detects over 11,000 mean webpages which attempt to infect guest’s computers with fake antivirus programs. The purpose of a fake antivirus program, such as Antivirus 2008, is to flood your computer with pop-ups warning you that your computer is impure and then fright you into purchasing a fake program to remove the infection. Ignore these warning and remove the fake antivirus program itself.
Instructions
Delete Infected Processes
1. Hit on the "Start" menu.
2. Type "taskmgr" into the "Search Programs and Files" box and press "Enter." The Task Manager opens.
3. Hit on the "Processes" tab and delete the following processes. To delete a process, click on it and then click "End Process."

Delete Infected Registry Values
4. Hit on the "Start" menu.
5. Type "regedit" into the "Search Programs and Files" box. The Registry Editor opens.
6. Locate the following registry values in the left sheet of the Registry Editor and remove them. To delete a registry value, right-click on it and select "Delete."

Delete Infected Files
7. Hit on the "Start" menu.
8. Type "cmd" into the "Search Programs and Files" box and press "Enter." The Command Prompt opens.
9. Type the following into the Command on time to delete the impure Active Link Library (DLL) files and directory. Press "Enter" after each line. When you are done, close the Command Prompt.

"rmdir ANTIVIRUS 2008"
10. Hit on the "Start" menu and then hit on the "Search Files and Programs" box.
11. Search for and delete the following files. To delete a file, right-click on it and select "Delete."
