Firefox comes with an built-in spell checker that you can tweak to use on virtually every Web page. The Firefox user probably recognizes it from the wavy red lines that appear on misspelled words in text areas, for instance, the basic view Gmail message.
To extend this feature to also check text input fields on forms is very easy. First, type in 'aboutconfig' in the location bar and hit [Enter]. Press the 'I'll be careful, I promise!' button to proceed to Firefox's configuration page where the changes need to be made. Now, type in 'layout.spelicheckDefault' in the Filter field and press [Enter]. Double click the entry and type in the optimal value, for instance, '2' and press 'OK'.
