Google Docs also includes a presentation tool but this is not really up to the same standard as the word processor and spreadsheet. It works like Microsoft's Powerpoint but is more limited in scope; whereas Powerpoint incorporates tools to create diagrams, charts and tables, the Google Docs presentation tool will need to import these once they've been created elsewhere. It's not possible to include movie or sound clips, either, although those watching your presentation may be grateful for this. Presentations can be viewed online or saved as a text, PDF or Powerpoint file.

At the time of writing, Zoho includes 17 modules, but the list is growing so fast that there may be more by the time you read this article. The 10 most important modules are completely free to use, although the advanced features of some of the more specialised tools require users to pay a subscription fee.

and in most respects it is just as good as Google Docs. It has plenty of features and is suitable for users who know how to use a standard word processor. Its strongest point is the use of tabs, which allow users to switch quickly between multiple documents. This is not possible in Google Docs.

The presentation module, Zoho Show, has an eye-catching array of themes and masses of categorised clipart elements, but its presentations may only be viewed online or saved as a set of web pages. They cannot be saved as Powerpoint or PDF files.

In common with all the Zoho applications, Show uses a toolbar packed with icons and options. Although this reduces the available space on screen, having all the controls on display at all times makes it quicker to use.
