So far we've focused on online applications that enable you to create, share and collaborate on documents -letters, spreadsheets and presentations, for example. Although almost everyone needs to write a letter or create a spreadsheet from time to time, though, many of us now use our computers for so much more. In particular, home computers are often used to store, edit and show off digital photos and home movies. Perhaps unsurprisingly, a number of online applications have sprung up to help with this kind of task.
If you want to edit photographs online, one of the most impressive tools is Adobe's Photoshop Express. This simplified version of the well known photo-editing software can be found at. It's a 'beta' service, so it's still being tested, and it's meant for users in the US only - but many Indian users have successfully registered and used the service.
After registering and logging in to Photos hop Express, look for a button marked 'upload photos'. Click on thi, and choose a photo on your hard disk to upload and edit. After uploading a photo it will appear in the 'My Photos' page. Click the photo to select it, then click the Edit Photo link, next to a picture of a pencil, at the bottom of the screen.
The editing screen that appears has a number of options down the left-hand side. Some of the options, such as the crop tool, are fairly simple, while others are a bit more powerful and may take a little practice to use. Should you make a mistake, though, click the orange undo button to go back to how the photo was before. When finished, you can click Save, at the bottom right of the screen, or Cancel to undo all the changes you've made. Photoshop Express can also be used to share your edited photos. Back in the My Photos screen, select a photo then click either .Email photo' or 'Create Album' to share the results with friends.
