If you're operating a wire among the routers, it's good to utilize a hub or switch rather than another router. Still, if you must, few routers can operate in pairs, you will just require to invalid the 'routing' characteristics in one. DHCP and other such characteristics might interfere with each other. Essentially, you just require to utilize the switch portion of the router.

So I can turn a router into a switch? how would I go about shutting the DHCP, do I have to be on the internet for that or do i now plug the router in and permit it?

Plug the router in, permit the control panel through the ip address of it and it should be an choice in the admin panel of the router. You will require to turn rather a some settings off, such as DHPC, firewalls, port forwading etc.

If that does not operate you can spend about £15 and get a right 4-port switch, i have 2 24 port switches in my room, though i don't arrive immediately from the wireless router downstairs ,i have a wireless laptop acting as a gateway, utilizing ICS and patching it directly into the uplink port on the switches I did test out this with a friends router, but it didn't operate likely at all, amybe i just wasn't doing it correct .
