Proposed bundled with the MSN Search Toolbar, Desktop Search can find files or emails on your computer in a flash after having indexed. This process can be quite long but occurs automatically when your computer is idle. Once indexing is performed, searches are performed from a field very integrated into the taskbar.
The software is integrated with Internet Explorer but unlike the solution proposed by Google, which preserves the layout "traditional" search engine, Windows Desktop Search provides a specific interface in the tradition of Copernic Desktop Search without achieving the same wealth: a panel displays the results list, the other the preview of the selected file.
Options allow you to filter the search for a document type music, images, emails etc or a specific location for certain types of files, shortcuts to other applications are proposed.
Looking for an MP3 file for example displays all the tracks on the album it was released with a play button for each song however, the tool Copernic offers custom search boxes for each file type (mp3 tags, sender or subject of an email ...) that are missing here. The new version brings improvements mainly performance for queries and indexing, can conduct research on remote machines also running the software, and offers new features for enterprise deployment, particularly in regard to search servers or Microsoft Exchange servers.
