Windows XP has a network repair tool that works in some circumstances, but Windows Vista is somewhat smarter. lfyour wired or wireless network stops working for no obvious reason, right-click the network icon in the Notification Area and choose 'Diagnose and Repair'. Windows will attempt to work out what the problem is and offer a solution - it doesn't always work, but it's a good place to start.
