Default Blinking of DSL Line light when it’s dark enough

Ok, for the past few months I’m noticing that my DSL line light initiate to blink every pair of minutes for about 20 seconds. This is really frustrating me. I had thinking that it was the DSL Filter which was going bad again, for this reason I replaced it for fixing the problem this I had done a year ago. I have also altered all the filters and I still have the same problem. Yet, I've observed that it’s completely working fine during the day time, but takes place when it gets dark. I have read somewhere about the motion sensing of lights can this might be the reason for my problem, I also had motion sensing of lights since the summer and this only commenced from few months ago. Then I turn off the lights but the problem continues. I'm also estimating that a neighbour might have got some new lights which may be affecting my DSL internet, but I have no idea about how to locate it out that that might be it and how to get it to stop.

    Any suggestions would be great.

I can't yet believe that how lights have to do anything with this problem, and it's definitely not a problem that's ever been carried up here. The standard cause for the DSL light to be blinking is that there may be some traffic on the link. How this can maybe related to the lights which is beyond me. Are you comprising of any issues with the network when this take place? If you shutdown ALL the attached computers, does the light still blink?

I have read anywhere that there are different kinds of lights which interrupt the signal or a little bit, and it makes a sense since it only occurs at night when it gets dark. Also, I am aware that I have installed those power saving lights in the sockets above my computer, the internet won’t work at all. I’m not aware about the idea if the light still blinks with the computers off, I'll also make an attempt when it gets darker.

I do not understand that where have you read this out, and I can think that of no valid reason for that occurrence. I read about different solution about many problems but I've never heard of light which is been disturbing the DSL connection!

I have observed it myself as I said that when I have installed the lights above my computers, the internet wouldn't work at all but when I remove it and reinstalled the incandescent, the internet starts working fine again as before.

I think might be having some interference in the wiring or something else, since light can't influence the DSL traffic.

Well I'm not discussing about the light which is been producing, but there are some kind of signal which the light may be giving off. I also memorize that while reading on the box for the light bulb that might also be the interfere with some of the internet networks.

I don't consider that the lights may be the problem for you connection. I too make use of the bell tech for DSL connections. I think that there must be a problem with your phone line, try to connect the modem directly to the demarc point at night and then see if it still happens or not.

I'm sure that it's not the lights; you must be trying to debunk that so that I can get on to the real problem for solving it.

I have to agree with you that lights are not causing the problem. While CFL's are having a much stronger EMF rather than a bright bulbs (which is nearly nothing with the sensor touching for the bulb), under the normal situation that would not cause no problems. A neighbor might also require having about 300+ bulbs for about 5 feet away from your computer/telephone wires to source for the problems and even then there would have to be somewhat wrong with the wiring.

Ok, so the light which only blinks if a request has been made by it, it doesn’t blink by itself. For example, you may perhaps be viewing a video which is been completely buffered and the light may not be blinking but it’s been nearly guaranteed that when you click the next video or go to another site, the light will start blinking again. It is still occurring at the night generally after 9. Some nights it also occurs twice a minute. By thumping the post reply right now it is been guaranteed that to get the blinking Line light.

A blinking line light generally indicates that the data is being sent down to your line. Yes, that is certainly going to take place when you are connected to the internet

I had a client whose DSL connection which was doing fine during the day time, but as soon as the night becomes it gets worse and worse. They were having a DSL filter on their modem. I would suggest you to remove the filter from your modem for resolving the problem.
