Unable to connect to our home network

I've recognized a Netgear wireless network by making use of our two new Vista equipped PC laptops. One is the hub, the other connects wirelessly. But there is no problem in it. However - my old, XP operational laptop is finding it difficult to connect consistently to the network. Its Netgear network adapter which is also working fine at the neighbour’s house. However, here, it will get connected for a uneven period, often for a few seconds. I think that the problem is that it reverts to some of the old network key.

The old laptop which is also set up automatically for looking out for connecting to the network. Though, its network key will come back to a blanked out but clearly with the wrong key. When I entered the correct key, the computer was able to access the internet but after sometime lose the connection again. When I went back into the advanced settings, there was the wrong key been entered?

Any ideas? Thanks

If you're making use of a 3rd party wireless client, and then verify that the WZC is been disabled. If you desire to make use of WZC to control the connection, make sure the Netgear client is also not running as well. The indication which you post propose both are running, and one still remembers the old incorrect key.
