Default Resolved: Home printing as working on vpn

I知 having two printers in my home office; one of it is an HP color laser jet and the other one is a brother mfc laser. The Brother mfc laser which is been addicted up to my work notebook via USB and my home network router via Ethernet, and amazingly, both connections work, so I知 able to print it while on vpn via USB with the direct connection to the notebook dock. I can also print to the Brother with the help of my other pc's at home via the network connection. Problem is that I desire to be able to print to the HP color laser jet from both the home networked pc's and the work vpn machine. It's presently hooked via USB to the work machine so I can also print the work documents in color too, but how can I set it to print the color printer to all my home pc's as well? My router is the Netgear WNR3500, so I don't have an USB port there, and the printer only has a USB. So, the entire network is on the router, and the close are two systems, Vonage and brother mfc. Hp laser which is been connected via USB to the work of the notebook.

    Your thoughts? Thanks!

You can also share the printer on the laptop which might not be the way because it may not be on and hooked up all the time. If you just require for a networked printer then you could easily install a network print server on your printer and then use it as a network printer. If you have to print across the network on the laptop since the print server which would be hooked up to the USB port of the printer which I知 considering that it is the only connection on the printer.

You might not be able to do this because it mainly depends on your companies of the VPN setup, the company which may be having a policy to force all traffic down the tunnel while the VPN is up. If this is the case, then you're not going to get the local LAN access on your computer. This is been supplied and I understand that your network layout.

When you're been connected to the work of VPN, it's connected to that network. Permitting all the connections which are across your home and work networks there might be a huge security risk to the company. It's not going to take place.

Yes I agree that it will not depend on how the work of VPN is to be set up. If you are making use of terminal server then you will have a chance for it.

Yeah, I'm also going to buy the internal Jet direct print server so that I can make use of both Ethernet as well as USB connections for the color laser, which is just like I'm presently doing now on the brother mfc. Thanks all for your input.
