    Default WLAN stopped or detached?

I have two laptops in my home. My HP Pavilion dv2000 is encountering with the problem. When I was on the internet and the internet plunge my wireless signal, so I then clicked on the (two small computers) at right bottom part of the desktop. I then clicked on Repair, and then by mistake pushed the cancel option. Afterwards it said that my Hp wireless connection has been stopped. I also made different steps for fixing the problem with the help of "device management" or manage devices?? And I was not able to locate the icon/WLAN file to uninstall in order to reinstall as it was recommended? It is really annoying me. I’m also not aware about what to do now.

Go to - Control Panel - Network Connections
Is the WLAN icon there?? If so then, right click on the WLAN connection icon, select Enable
    OK.

Start, All Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

In the command prompt window that opens, type the subsequent commands:

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

    Finally reboot the machine.

All it states that under the network connections is: 1394 connection as well as local area connection too. I then right clicked on both of it but neither one say that they are disabled. I even disabled both the internet in order to enable it back but there is no change in it.

This is like a silly question, but when I enter the information as you had told me, do I have to select the Enter key after each command or should I must merely put 1 space and go ahead with the next command?

Enter is the key on the right, the Enter key.

After I finished typing the commands word, it says
    Invalid Parameter(s)
    RESET { SESSION }
Does that means that it is working, or it didn’t?

Not sure if it issues but I’m running Windows XP.

Funny, I implicit that it is Vista. Try this out for Xp.

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2/SP3.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following commands:

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults, type: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults, type: netsh winsock reset catalog

    Reboot the machine.

I considered that the problem is eternally solved but it only works for about 5-10 min, and then the wireless device is disables again.... not confirm that what is up. When I click on the wireless supporter it states that I need to go to Device Manager and locate the device which requires to be enabled. But for some reason it is not there, I look under the network adapter then I do an advanced search and still unable to locate it. Also I have searched for an X's or exclamation points.. Now this may be the issue? Or related to it: I have an exclamation point on my "infrared port" and when I select it, it says an error has taken place and the advice is to uninstall and reinstall... And then I have done that with no change...

I'm also guessing that the wireless adapter is blistering if it's vanishing from Device Manager. Note that HP also has an extensive warranty on some of the laptops due to failing wireless adapters; you might want to check their site and see to it you’re been listed or not.
