The Passive FTP is mostly used by some other FTP servers to operate very smoothly with present firewalls. Internet Explorer has a following setting for Passive ("PASV") FTP mode. You may also be able to allow or block this setting to allow Internet Explorer to work with an exact FTP server. Here is how you set it up. Just open the Internet Explorer and click on the tool option and then click on the Internet option and in the Internet dialogue box click at the advance tab and search for the Passive FTP and allow the Passive FTP and tick mark in the box close to passive FTP setting and to block the feature just remove the tick mark form the box an click on OK.
