As you can see in the My computer as every drive are being denoted with letter on every drive as the floppy drive is allocated as A: / drive and the computer a hard drive are allocated as C: / drive, etc. If you have a home network for your office you may have separate network drive by which you can transfer your file from one computer to other through network drive to make the system more easier you can easily map your network to your network location you can use any letter for your network location and the drive letter will be shown in the Windows Explorer and stay till the connection is being disconnected and when a connection is disconnected a red colored x will be seen on that particular. Following are the very simple way to map your network drive just click on the My computer or the Windows Explorer and click on the tools option in the my computer menu and select the Map Network Drive and after clicking you will see the following dialogue box and it will ask to pickup any letter for that drive which you want to assign to new drive or else you can browse in the UNC path and check whether you are login or not if not you have to login every time to reconnect and then it will map drive for you other way to map drive is to find network drive first find the shared folder by browsing My network places and right click on it and click on the folder which you want to map it out and choose it as Network map drive. And you will see the same window excluding the folder box which will get filled automatically with the path of the folder which you have selected.
