How to find a Computer Name by using nbtstat

How you can check the IP address as well as the domain name of the computer you can ping the IP address but only when you are connected by using the DOS command nbtstat and you can find the NetBIOS computer names if you are using the network and its very simple only click on the Start button on the taskbar and select the RUN option from the start menu and type in the address bar as cmd and click on OK.
And you will see the accessible switches and use the nbtstat command and find the host anme with the IP address with nbtstat IP address

Have you ever wanted to know whose computer belongs to what IP address? Sure you can ping an IP address but that only tells you if there is connectivity. You can use the DOS command nbtstat to find NetBIOS computer names if you use it on your network. Just open a command prompt by going to Start, Run then type in cmd and click OK. Here are the available switches you can use with the nbtstat command with the following computer name and also with the domain name.
