First of all, make certain your wireless router is installed in a mid position, if possible mounted on a wall, and as far away as feasible from additional devices also running on 2.4 GHz, for example microwave ovens, baby monitors, as well as cordless phones. Also Bluetooth® gadgets can cause problem as well as influence your wireless network range. Whatever thing from closed doors to strange corners can cause intrusion, so try to set up your wireless router as close as feasible to the source. Metal objects in general can also cause obstruction plus influence your wireless network range, as do windows and electronics.

Once you have located the faultless place for your wireless router, try switching the channels until you get a frequency that works. Most routers arrive pre-programmed to run on channel 1 or else 11, other than they can also run without troubles on additional channels 6 as well as 11. If you guess that your neighbors can also have wireless routers in their homes, it is feasible that the interference is coming from them. Test different channels before settling on one.

If all fails, think replacing the unique antenna that comes with the router. A wireless network range can gain wholly from a hi-gain antenna, which directs all signals in one specific direction rather than a standard antenna, which is omni-directional. An omni-directional antenna can frequently misdirect signals towards walls, which reduces the ability of the router. You can also think adding up a wireless repeater, which only boost the signal when positioned among the router as well as the computer, ensuring a superior reception.
