Thread: Zonealarm Zapped

I have recently lost the ability to connect to the internet with my computer. I know that the connection is OK because the green light for broadband connection is illuminated. I am using Windows XP with the Zonealarm firewall.

This is a known problem with a Microsoft update and the Zonealarm firewall that blocks all internet traffic. Right-click on the Zonealarm icon in.the otificationArea. This is a blue Z that changes to a green and red graph when the computer is using the network. Left-click on Restore Zonealarm Control Center in the menu that appears. Left-click on the Firewall tab on the left-hand side. Click on the slider in the Internet Zone Security section and drag it down to Med. You should now be able to download the updated Zonealarm version. Left-click on the overview tab and then on the Preferences tab at the top right of the window. Click on the Check for Update button. A message should appear saying that an update is available. Make sure Update Now is selected and click OK. Zonealarm will now load the download page in your default internet browser.
