Keep Track of or Limit Your Active Directory Users with Limit Login
Limit Login includes ability to limit simultaneous user logins and to keep track of all login information in an Active Directory domain. It is not based on your Active Directory Forest or Domain modes. It only wants one Windows Domain Controller for domain you hope to utilize application on.
Here is how it works according to Microsoft
“When a user logon to domain, login.vbs file runs and sends the host machine's data to Limit Login Web service as XML, using SOAP. Web service utilizes client's security context against Active Directory and tests to see if this user is organized for Limit Login and has a login quota in Limit Login application directory partition. If user does not have a login quota set, then Web service notifies script that it must go on to log in normally. If user does have a login quota in place, then Web service counts many registered logins user has collected in Limit Login application directory partition. If user's login quota is less than actual many logins registered in Active Directory, then Web service updates user's login information in Limit Login application directory partition and notifies login script to keep on login generally. If user's login quota is equal to or exceeds many logins registered in Active Directory, though, then Web service notifies login script to log off current session.”
