FTP is language utilized to move files from PC to PC over internet or over a network. To access files from a remote site you want to know some things. Firstly you want to know FTP site address or IP Address. If site needs a login name and password you want to get these also. Some sites permit for unspecified login where you do not want a name and password.
Then open Internet Explorer and type site address in address bar. You want to type ftp: // and then address or IP address. E.g. you can type it as ftp://ftp.microsoft.com or ftp://192.168.1.25 based on what information you have.
If FTP site needs you to login you can right tick anywhere and choose Login As and type in your information.
After you have effectively logged on you notice available folders that you have authorization to access. It looks same to your Windows Explorer or My Computer view. From here you can copy and paste files and folders from local hard drive to FTP site and vice versa. Remember that you want to have proper permissions to add, change or remove files from FTP site. These permissions will be allocated to your user account by administrator of FTP site.
