Windows 95/98/ME cannot access Windows XP/2000 shares

In networking, the previous editions of Windows are not maximum at making it simple to obtain the job completed. When you attempt and attach to a shared folder on a PC running Windows XP or Windows 2000 you may notice a dialog box like following.

It will contain resource as \computername\IPC$ where PC name is name of PC running Windows XP/2000

E.g. if you are logged in as jsmith on Windows 98 PC you want to go into users sector of XP/2000 PC and insert a user with name jsmith. It’s a good idea to utilize similar password too rather than leaving it blank. You must check the box that says password never ends to prevent future problems.
