The Difference between Static and Dynamic IP Addresses
In IP addressing there are two major categories of IP addresses, static and dynamic.
A static IP address is an address that does not modify eventually if altered by you. It is utilized when you want IP address or network place to stay the same constantly. Example of this is for a web server. If you visit Google you are actually directed IP address of 66.102.7.99. If this were to modify rapidly you would not be able to obtain to Google unless you knew the new IP address or until Google updated their DNS records.
A Dynamic IP address is an address that continues on varying. It is mainly utilized when having a steady IP address is not needed. E.g. IP address of your ISP (internet service provider) allocates you when you log on to internet. You should have an IP address to surf web but once you detach you lose that address. Then next time you sign on you are allocated a new one. This is completed using DHCP.
