If you have two or more PCs networked jointly at home or work there probably will be a time when you want to obtain a file or folder of one of the other PCs that you are not working on. Now you can make use of file sharing.
The simple method to share a folder is to open Windows Explorer or My Computer and browse to folder that has files you want to share. Then right tick the folder and choose Sharing and Security. You will obtain a dialog box same to following. If you obtain a message warning you of risks of file sharing just tick on the sector that says you know the risks and to enable file sharing.
Then you click on Share this folder and type in a name or leave default name of folder. You can tick on Permissions to permit or deny some users access to shared folder. You can access these folders different ways.
Sharing printers is like sharing folders. Go to printers’ folder through Start, Settings and then Control Panel or Start then Control panel based on how your taskbar is setup. Right tick printer you want to share and choose Sharing. You will see a dialog box like this given below.

Tick on Share this printer, type in a name and tick on Ok. If you have other editions of Windows on network you must click on Additional Drivers button to install various drives to support those operating systems.
