IP is a set of commands controlling travelling of data on Internet. IP Routing is while data is configured in a method that it is being forwarded from one network to another network.
Gateway Configuration
· Go to "Start" and open "Control Panel." Select "Network and Internet/Network and Sharing Center/Manage Network Connections."
· Right click on adapter to configure, and go to "Properties." If asked for password type password or log in from an Administrator's account.
· Select Networking. On "This connection uses the following items, select either "Internet Protocol Version 4" or Internet Protocol Version 6." Go to "Properties" and select any of the following "Obtain an IP address automatically" or "Use the following IP address."
RIP Listener and Add Routes
· Go to "Start," open "Control Panel," select "Programs" and click "Programs and Features." Select "Turn Windows features on or off." Tick on "RIP Listener."
· Select "Start," open "All Programs," select "Accessories," and open "Command Prompt."
· Type route command as follows: route -p add [destination] [mask <netmask>] [gateway] [metric <metric>] [if <interface>].
