Routers, like some other computer device, can finally fail or break down. You cannot join to Internet dependably with a defective or broken router. To cut off the router from your IBM laptop, you want to remove the Ethernet cable from Ethernet jack situated laptop's docking station. to maintain a connection to the Internet after removing the router, you must both disconnect the router from the modem and then reconnect the modem to your PC.
Instructions
- Disconnect router's AC adapter from wall. Take out AC adapter from router.
- Remove both Ethernet cables linked to back router. Do not disconnect the Ethernet cable linked to modem.
- Cut off Ethernet cable linked to IBM laptop. Connect Ethernet cable attached to back of the modem to available Ethernet slot your laptop.
- Remove AC adapter from back modem, then reconnect it after 60 seconds, to retune your connection.
