Default Not able to accesses network drive

I have installed XP in my system. When I try to access a network drive that is mapped to a Web share following error message appears: "The operation being requested was not performed because the user has not been authenticated". If anybody knows how to solve this problem please let me know that. Thanks.

To fix this issue first you apply this hotfix, after that you have to make a registry entry. To do this, follow these procedures:

    1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and after that press ENTER.

    2. place and after that click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\WebClient\Parameters

    3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and after that click on Multi-String Value.

    4. Type AuthForwardServerList , and after that press ENTER.

    5. On the Edit menu, click Modify.

    6. In the Value date box, type the URL of the server that hosts the Web
share, and after that click OK.

I'm assuming your router is hooked up and your connected to the router already. And all computers have access to the internet? All you basically need to do is turn on file sharing on that drive you want to share. You can just right click it in My Computer or for Windows 7 it's under "Computer" in the Windows menu and click on Sharing on that drive. Once you enabled that the drive is now shared on the LAN and should be accessible to all other computers unless you have a firewall blocking them from accessing that drive.
