For wireless connections, the antenna on the router or access point is somewhat important. Some manufacturers might try and make routers so compact that they embed the antenna within the unit. Although it might look pretty, the perform¬ance will suffer.
The antenna needs to be positioned on the outside, and the user should be able to position it if required. Manufacturers might plug in multiple antennas, but you can run a router just fine with the inbuilt antenna. So don't go for a router based on the number of antennas it has.
