Thread: How to block Bittorrent

My roommate is killing my connection with Bittorrent, I also don't requirement any more emails from MPAA or few other establishment telling me to block sharing movies. I did get a some a couple years ago.I forgot ports 6881-6999 on my router, but that didn't operate. Is there a way to stop P2P services on the router?I recognize I requirement to talk to him, but he's gone for the weekend and his utorrent has like 25 active connections. I will just unplug him from the router this weekend. Please let me know!

Blocking a range of ports is not for use. He can ever determine a latest port that is start. uTorrent, and other clients, can tell you if the took port is start or not. On my linksys router I can stop services (its done by port though), block permit to sure web links (If you have it, you can stop access to the tracker web link or sites he utilize for getting torrents). I also have QoS. If you have QoS, you can set your system as 1 priority and his as final. This will permit your net to be quick, still if he is downloading. My router also has the choice to stop access through out a specific time range. If you have the choice, you can set it so his machine doesnt get net at night.

Why not just let him get fined for piracy Or close down the torrent app. If it is his own machine then hold putting eggs inside of it till he block utilizing torrent. Think me, he will get pissed off identical quikly (and hopefully block) .
