The security of the PC is a big issue, which the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) would like to dedicate a new series of fully and regularly. Perhaps the most important lesson learned from the kick-off recommendations: Google Chrome is the safest browser, according to BSI.


Practice-oriented, feasible and effective will turn out the recommendations of the new BSI recommendations on cyber security. In a first part, the authors devote the product configuration of Windows PCs, with separate versions for home users and small businesses and self-employed are conducted. As part of the recommendations will be discussed from different perspectives such as the e-mail program, backup and virus protection programs, what aspects relevant for a very secure configuration and which components and configurations are recommended.
