The security of the PC is a big issue, which the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) would like to dedicate a new series of fully and regularly. Perhaps the most important lesson learned from the kick-off recommendations: Google Chrome is the safest browser, according to BSI.
Practice-oriented, feasible and effective will turn out the recommendations of the new BSI recommendations on cyber security. In a first part, the authors devote the product configuration of Windows PCs, with separate versions for home users and small businesses and self-employed are conducted. As part of the recommendations will be discussed from different perspectives such as the e-mail program, backup and virus protection programs, what aspects relevant for a very secure configuration and which components and configurations are recommended. According to the BSI should I use Google Chrome is worth noting here that the recommendation in terms of browser turns surprisingly clear.
The reason for the suggestion is to utilize the sandbox tech is consistently followed up this security as presently Google Chrome. Similar mechanisms in other browsers presently followed up either weaker or not demonstrate, according to the BSI recommendations. For this reason, it can be replaced by the use of Google Chrome, in conjunction with the other measures outlined above, reduce the risk of a successful IT attack strongly. Positive is also pointed out the auto-update feature of Chrome, since it also includes built-in Adobe Flash Player.
It is worth mentioning in this context, however, that the recommendations have already caused first, not unjustified criticism.
