VIRUS 8< SPYWARE CONTROLS:

This component offers real-time protection against viruses and spyware by constantly monitoring activity. This includes checking for infected files and suspected spyware, threats in incoming and outgoing mail, threats in Web mail attachments, threats in instant messaging files and network viruses. Compressed files can be scanned up to a depth of six layers.

SOFTWARE HISTORY CLEANER:

Purges data from applications that are targeted by spyware. For instance, Web browsers keep track of files or Web sites recently accessed, and keep a cache so that reopening them is faster, since this information can be used by malicious programs, it's necessary to purge them from your machine.

PREVENT UNAUTHORIZED CHANGES.

Protects your system from unauthorized changes, for instance, addition or modifications to the startup programs list, modification of Hosts files, shell settings and Windows program library, addition of Internet Explorer plug-ins and malware as Windows services, processes, security and firewall policies, duplication of system files, and interception of network outgoing and incoming data by infecting the Layered Service Provider.

WEB PROTECTION:

Protection against phishing, pharming and fraudulent websites, spam e-mail filters to remove unwanted advertisements and e-mail from your Inbox, parental controls to
block access to certain websites, for instance, websites on a specified block list or category list. Data theft prevention monitors instant messaging software, e-mail messages and Web pages.

Performance

On first run, the suite will set up the virus, spyware, firewall, content protection, additional security features and activation modules, which can take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the speed of your processor. Note that enabling the program's Firewall service will only be possible if the default Windows Firewall is first disabled.

It eats away at your system resources. Tested on a PC running a Windows XP SP3 operating system with 1.8 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM, it accounts for approximately 50 MB RAM scattered across system background services and system tray tasks. While it might not seem a big number, it does tend to slow down your system quite a bit. But, it does what it promises to-it successfully blocks sensitive information from being sent through e-mail or on black listed websites, sets up a secure firewall, has an overall grade A ranking on tests conducted by AV-Test (av-test.org) in the category or anti-virus, anti-malware and anti-spyware.
