Default Firefox 2.0 Flash content problem

I am using Firefox 2.0 and have been facihg a lot of problems with the increase in Flash content on Web pages nowadays. Is there any way in which I can restrict Flash from playing streaming media on my Web browser?

There is a Firefox extension available at flashblock.mozdev.org that blocks all Macromedia Flash from loading. It leaves a placeholder on the Web page that allows you to click to download and then view the Flash content. So, now you have the choice of viewing a Web page with or without Flash.
