ActiveX controls are small codes of software programs which help developers distribute applications over the ActiveX Controls Internet through specific web browsers. These programs can include images and media files, displaying executable files, animation, etc. ActiveX con¬trols are a Microsoft proprietary, and hence you will find them only when you are using Internet Explorer. When an ActiveX control is available, an indicator appears below the address bar of the Internet Explorer window. Click on it to proceed with viewing the control. However, you need to be careful while activating any ActiveX controls, as they might contain viruses or spyware.
