    Default Software Request

I am a regular subscriber to PC World and this is my first mail to you. I'd like to thank you for the technical informa¬tion in sections like Tips and Tricks and specially the contents on the DVD¬which saves a lot of downloading time for your readers and subscribers. My request for PC World is a trial version of Visual Studio 2008Professional Edi¬tion on the DVD with the January 2009 edition. Downloading such a huge file is impossible for those who don't have Internet at home. Please, I request you for the above once again. Hope you will do me a favor in this regard. Expecting a lot from you.

Thanks for writing in. Unfortunately, the problem with trial versions of apps like Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 is that at 900MB it is fairly large and leaves less space for other interesting content that could be packed in the DVD. Keeping in mind that we also bundle software that is appealing and useful to a broad segment of the audience, we try our best Runner-up: Abhaas Saxena

A desktop very similarto this month's winner; does it remind you of a booth at an expo?
to bundle software that most of our readers could benefit from. At the same time, we don't forget our niche enthusiast readers either and so carry the latest Linux distributions and software, game demos, technology videos, and expect that trend to continue in the future. Incidentally, a newer version of Visual Studio is expected in a few months, so do watch out for our DVDs in the year ahead.
